Still have questions?
Travel insurance is a must-have when you’re sailing around the world: your health and your money need to be protected.
Your 3+ month travel insurance offers you different benefits:
- Emergency medical expenses and treatment in the event of an unforeseen illness or an accident.
- Worldwide assistance and medical repatriation.
- Travel insurance for your bags
The cost of medical care abroad can be very high, particularly in the United States, in certain Asian countries, or outside the European Union. The travel insurance provided by your credit card is often insufficient and without additional coverage, you may have to pay significant expenses upfront.
Your travel insurance plan may include some very attractive additional benefits:
- Financial protection in case of loss or theft of your smart devices, or any damage caused to them (smartphone, computer, camera).
- Coverage of your favorite sports activities
- Legal assistance and third-party liability abroad if you were to injure someone or damage their property.
- Coverage of travel incidents such as the cancellation or interruption of your trip.
Last but not least, please note that many countries require an insurance certificate to validate the visa application.
The travel assistance included with your credit card usually covers your medical expenses only for the first three months abroad, which isn’t enough for a trip around the world for example. Ongoing treatment or care following an accident may not be covered beyond this period. Some benefits are also often excluded from coverage if the insurance plan has been purchased after the event or includes a waiting period.
Your card may also include deductibles (non-reimbursed amount) or work as a cash advance that you will need to pay back after receiving care or if you are hospitalized.
The limits and benefits offered by most credit cards are often not enough to properly cover your medical expenses when you’re sailing around the world or living abroad for a long time. In these cases, we highly recommend taking out top-up insurance from the 1st euro spent.
Anyone wishing to travel or stay abroad should take out travel insurance, regardless of their age or the reason for their trip: vacation, studies, internship, volunteering, humanitarian mission or trip around the world. Your 3+ month travel insurance protects you against a wide range of risks and unexpected events, whether it’s common medical expenses, an accident (scooter, motorbike, or during exploratory activities), a sudden illness, or even the need for repatriation assistance. Check the General terms and conditions of your 3+ month travel insurance plan to find out which benefits are included.
Destinations in question:
- European Union: The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), issued via your Ameli account, may partially cover certain treatments, but a specialized top-up health insurance is recommended for full protection in case something happens when you’re abroad.
- Outside the European Union: there may be some agreements in place but the French healthcare system doesn’t apply. This is something to keep in mind while purchasing your flight ticket, as the cost of medical care abroad may be very high, especially in the USA, in Canada and in Australia.
- Other destinations: for a temporary stay or a trip around the world, take out 1st euro health insurance to get benefits such as the coverage of your medical expenses, accidents and repatriation.
With international health insurance, you’re sure to get optimal protection regardless of the destination and the type of trip.
neoExplore offers a range of benefits perfectly tailored to your trip and round-the-world adventure, detailed a little further up the page, including:
- health insurance in the event of an illness or an accident: teleconsultations, hospitalization, consultations, treatments, medicines, emergency dental care, emergency medical expenses in a third country
- Assistance and repatriation
- Trip: Loss, theft or destruction of your bags, baggage delays
- Coverage of your favorite sports activities
- Coverage of your smart devices
- Personal accident: coverage in the event of a serious event
- Tenant’s and third-party liability
Please note that the neoExplore product has been underwritten by the ASFE association. As a result, when you enroll in one of these plans, you first become a member of the ASFE association.
The neoExplore plan is available to anyone of any nationality, aged 18 to 35, residing in France at the time of departure, and traveling abroad for vacation, a trip around the world, a humanitarian project, an au pair stay, or any other type of trip.
The plan and its benefits only cover one person: no dependent or family member can be added to the plan. If you’re traveling abroad with friends or family, each person must purchase their own insurance plan to ensure full coverage for medical expenses, accidents and incidents during the trip.
With neoExplore, you can take out a travel or international health insurance plan from 1 to 12 months. The plan is not automatically renewed: if you want to stay covered after the termination of your plan, you need to take out a new insurance plan.
Each traveler must have their own insurance, even if you’re traveling as a group or family. This makes sure that your medical expenses, accidents or incidents occurred during your stay are properly covered. Purchasing a plan for the right duration based on your trip ensures that you benefit from comprehensive coverage with no interruption and comply with local regulations.
It’s very simple! You just need to fill out the information corresponding to your profile in this form (age + reason, duration and country of stay). Then, you will receive a quote (free, non-binding) based on the information provided to us. After that, you will be able to purchase the plan right away with your bank card!
With neoExplore, no need to provide any supporting documents at the time of purchase or to complete thousands of administrative formalities and choose from 25 different options. Our goal: make sure you can be covered in just a few clicks!
Within 24 hours of enrolling in the neoExplore plan, you will be emailed a “Welcome pack” containing your certificate and all the information you need to go abroad (reimbursement turnaround time and coverage limits, covered benefits, etc.). Grab your camera and get ready for adventure!
If you’re planning a trip around the world or if you’re going abroad for more than 3 months, neoExplore is the best option to travel with peace of mind. With neoExplore, emergency situations and repatriation are covered from the 1st euro spent, but also your favorite sports activities (including some extreme sports) and even the loss or theft of your camera!
The cost of medical insurance depends on several criteria: your profile, the length of your stay, your destination and the level of coverage chosen (i.e. the benefits included in your plan).
It’s usually between €30 and €400 per month.
